A. Only if it has a valid CSC (safety) plate and identification. Please contact your local CSL office for more details.
Q. Can I buy a really cheap container for something like a landfill or a culvert?
A. Sometimes we have badly damaged containers for sale at below cost but this depends on availability. Contact your nearest CSL office or visit our sisiter site www.cheapascontainers.com
Q. What sort of modifications can you do?
A. We have made everything from air-conditioned sleeping quarters to native eel rearing tanks. Use your imagination and try us out for a quote.
Q. How much space does the truck need to deliver my container?
A. Our trucker needs at least 9m x 6m to swinglift the container off the truck. During delivery please be aware of tight corners, overhead power lines, soft ground and changes to your site which could prevent us from picking up the container when you have finished with it.
Q. What if a swinglift truck can’t fit the container where I want it?
A. Alternatives to consider are – hiab truck, crane, helicopter.
Q. My mate bought a really cheap container for about $500. Can I get one of these?

Q. Can you arrange to ship my goods in one of your lease containers from point to point?
A. Yes. We call this mobile warehousing. We use the cheapest method to get your goods in our container from say Auckland to Christchurch. You will need to load and unload it though.
Q. Who is responsible for insuring the container if I have it on lease?
A. You are.
Q. How much do containers weigh?
A. Please see our specifications page.
Q. How do I stop condensation in my container?
A. Do:
- Purchase a good quality container that is clean and dry.
- Purchase desiccant to maintain an even moisture content.
- Load the container on a dry day.
- Ask us about fitting extra vents if you are storing household contents for an extended period of time.
Don’t:
- Sit container on bare ground. Sit it up about 200mm at each corner so that air can flow underneath.
- Leave the container unopened for months at a time.
Q. Will you buy my container back when I don’t need it anymore?
A. Maybe. Depending on market conditions we might but generally we don’t as it is not good for our container leasing business.
Q. Is it better to lease or to buy?
A. Depends on lease term. If you need the container for more than 2 years, we recommend to buy it.
Q. What are the container dimensions?
A. Please see our specifications page. |
